I know this has probably been answered before but hoped that since then a patch might have been made available. Is it possible to select to manage an under 21s national team at the start of the game? I really want to manage the home nations' under 21s sides but not sure if it's possible.

Yeah im pretty sure it is Zabs, just create a new manager, find the nation or enter it into the search bar, then click the U21's squad and click take control and that should be you :)

If you can't do that just select the main squad and click control U21 on the manager ioptions clicky button.

Glad you asked this because I was wondering about it after watching the England U19's the other day so cheers lads, will try it out me thinks once I've finished with the Spain challenge! :thumbsup:

I'm sure the 'take control' options aren't available for under 21 teams though. I might be wrong though.

They are if you sack the U21 manager

Yeah Zabier i just checked it for you there, when your selecting a team to manage, in the national teams select England for example, just click the U21 squad and take control :)
Its acc quite a smart idea with the U21 of the home nations, hope you get on well

EDIT: Although for it too work, I think you need to load up the suitable leagues

Awesome, I'll give it a try tonight and see if it works ok. A bit worried that the under 21 tournaments are shit though. Will see.

You can manage any youth national teams.

I got the U-19 job at Turkey on my game, the youngsters were fb and I was pwning teams 4-0 or so until the whole backbone of the team got called up to the U20 and U21 teams.

Pissed me off as well that some 19 year olds couldn't play for them, yet some could.

I think there may be some thing in the game, that only allows you to select to manage the U21's if the team has no manger at the start, otherwise you can choose to control it yourself if you manage the national team then sack the old U21 manager. Once you do that you might be able to choose whether to resign as senior team boss or as U21 or as both.. That's my understanding anyway, I could be wrong..

Another option if all the above doesnt work is to create a second manager in control of the main squad, sack the current U21 manager then offer your manager the job. Sort of cheating but it should work. :thumbsup:
